Chevrolet Camaro is one of the finest muscle-car to be ever produced. In 1966, Chevrolet Camaro began its sale and in 1967 Chevrolet designed a Camaro as a competing model for Ford Mustang. In 1966 when the Chevrolet Camaro was announced in a live press conference an automobile reporter asked Chevrolet product manager, what is a Camaro? The Chevrolet product manager said “A Camaro is a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs” and the rest is history. Such is the legacy and history of Chevrolet Camaro.
It’s been almost 30 years since Chevrolet Camaro has produced any four-cylinder engine. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 455 horsepower with 295 pound-feet of torque. It races from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.4 seconds, and it goes up to 31 miles per gallon on the highway.
There is this million dollar question, can a muscle can also be a sports car? The people over at General Motors tried this theory and came up with the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is lighter, slimmer and faster than its previous models.
In honor of their new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro model Chevrolet threw a grand party where the guest was invited to take a lap in the last year’s Camaro, then a lap in this year’s Ford Mustang and end finish in the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The people at Chevrolet are so excited about the sports car that they threw this comparison lap test. Chevrolet’s gamble paid off, and everybody was happy with the results, the new model felt lighter and faster than any of the previous model and Ford Mustang. “It’s like last year’s car has been at the gym,” Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser said. “It’s more cut and more muscular.”
Chevrolet has been making Camaro for almost 50 years, and the main reason why Chevrolet entered into the muscle-car arena was that Ford Mustang was doing so well. Chevrolet could not handle their greed and came into the scene, and some 50 years later the Chevrolet Camaro is considered as the only rival of Ford Mustang.
For the last few years, Chevrolet Camaro has outsold Ford Mustang. From 2010 to 2014 Chevrolet Camaro sold 86,297 and Ford Mustang sold 82,635 pieces during the same year. But Chevrolet lost the race when in 2014 Ford introduced their sixth-generation pony car. To narrow the gap in sales Chevrolet is pricing its cars competitively.
People who are not fan of Chevrolet Camaro often complained that Chevrolet Camaro favored performance and not luxury. Keeping these things in mind the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is built around high-quality interiors and offers all trim levels with all engine size. People of the East Coast and Upper Midwest will be happy to hear that the Chevrolet Camaro comes with a standard “snow/ice” diving mode in addition to “tour” and “sports” mode; the model also comes with a “track” mode.
Chevrolet Camaro has been the few American cars still used widely and respected worldwide. The fifth-generation of the Chevrolet Camaro was used in the popular movie franchise Transformers. The Autobot Bumblebee transforms into a yellow Chevrolet Camaro although I prefer the convertible model. Such is the craze of Chevrolet Camaro; the new Chevrolet Camaro will land into showrooms within few months, and Chevrolet Camaro’s avid lovers can’t wait that awaited due date.
